Notice of Proposed Rule Making Due: 2/1/11

NPRM Due: 2/1/11
Final Rule Due: 8/1/12

Description: Requires FAA Administrator to issue a rulemaking to change screening and qualification requirements for all Part 121 pilots to require an ATP license/appropriate multi-engine experience. Includes default provision that ATP requirement is mandatory within 3 years.

Status: The FAA is addressing this item as part of the ATP qualification provision of Sec 217.. The flight crewmember screening and qualifications requirement will be a part of that combined NPRM and will therefore follow the same timeline as that open item. The FAA is currently drafting this combined NPRM.
