When booking a ticket on Travelocity, consumers provide the dates and times they wish to travel and are then presented with a list of available flights. As shown in the screenshot below, the logos and names of the major air carriers are clearly displayed, but when a flight is outsourced to a regional carrier, this information is not clearly provided. In order to determine whether a regional carrier is operating the flight, consumers must hover their mouse over a tiny portion of the screen to reveal who is actually flying the plane. (click to enlarge) Orbitz, on the other hand, requires consumers to follow virtually the same process for booking air travel but when the list of available flights is displayed to the consumer, the actual carriers are clearly displayed on the screen directly under each flight number.
