Notice of Proposed Rule Making: 8/1/2011 Final Rule Due: 08/01/13 Description: Requires FAA Administrator to issue a rule that modifies the requirements such that all pilots must earn an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license. Focuses on Flight Hours (including in difficult operational conditions) and additional qualitative elements. Status: The FAA is addressing this item as part of the flight crewmember screening and qualifications requirement - the ATP provision will be a part of that NPRM and final rule and will therefore follow the same timeline as that open item. As of August 1, 2011, the FAA has not yet issued an NPRM. We are therefore concerned that this item has fallen behind schedule. |
