Sending my thoughts and strength to you. I hope that something can be done to change the culture of financial influence in Washington. It is sad that the government has failed to provide adequate oversight with regard to these airlines. I wish you well in your efforts to improve airline safety and am sorry you have suffered such profound loss. You honor those you lost through your work.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I work for a different airline that had to deal with a similar crash a few years ago. I keep hearing th pilots say that we need to change the work rules for fatigue but what we MUST do is STOP allowing pilots to commute to work like the FO did in the Colgan crash. The pilots never want to talk about fatigue when it comes to commuting but I know MANY like the COlgan FO who will commute all night to get to their base. Make airline REQUIRE their employees/pilots to have their domicile in their base. Pilots are responsible for their own controlled fatigue as well.

Your strength and your drive to make the skies safer for us all is inspiring... and I am grateful. You are all in my thoughts and prayers every night, and every time I step foot on a plane. May God bless you and bring you comfort in this time of tragedy. My porch light will be shining bright Friday night.

I failed to add below...I hope Colgan is treated as an example to the industry and is bankrupted by your claims! Sorry Colgan employees, but your potential joblessness is a heck of a lot more fair than the loss of lives!

I'm sorry for everyone's loss. I stand beside the families here and think we need to work together to pressure congress and/or the FAA to investigate training, compensation and fatigue issues at regional carriers in greater detail. I'm disgusted when I read the crew and flight "were fully within FAA guidelines" on this or that; if that's the case, maybe its time we make FAA culpable for their shoddy standards. I fly the regional carriers frequently and I live in a state of fear when I board one of their jets. Unfortunately, if you live in a smaller city like Buffalo (or Cleveland) you often have little choice.

It is an understatement to say that we miss Elly Kausner at our law school. She was blessed with many gifts, including an incredible family. Due to the utter importance of improving regional airline safety and the recent airing of Frontline's "Cheap Flying", I am offering a 50% discount for my regional airline autobiography "Squawk 7700" which provides and inside look at why accidents like Colgan Air 3407 can occur.

"Squawk 7700 is a timely, eye opening, must read aviation autobiography. My personal experiences as an airline pilot and as acting first officer aboard US Airways Flight 1549 that ditched into the Hudson River, I recommend Squawk 7700 for anyone interested in an aviation career, and mandatory reading for those who fly on our national airline system. First and foremost, you are all in my thoughts and prayers as the anniversary of 3407 approaches. I have been a regional airline pilot for 5 years, and I see first-hand the everyday safety challenges and rigors of this demanding job. I fully support and urged my state senators to vote yes for H.R. 3371. Thank you for stepping up boldly to make a difference. God bless you.

I do not live in New York anymore, but I grew up in Clarence about a half a mile down the road. My heart goes out to all the families who lost someone in this devistating crash.

The plane crashed very close to my house; it really shook me up-- I ended up writing the song "3407" and recorded it with producer Joe Secchiaroli in Kenmore. I would like for families who lost loved ones on 3407 to hear this song-- http://www.meetmarkweber.com. Sincerely, Mark, markwebermusic@roadrunner.com
