My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of the victims of Flight 3407. It is still surreal to me that a tragedy like this could happen in our small town, just minutes away from my home. Please take comfort in the fact that your loved ones will never be forgotten. Thank you for your tireless efforts to make flying safer for everyone.

Our utmost respect and praise to the families that lost loved ones in this tragedy for taking on the airline industry, the government and the FAA. I wish you strength and peace. We live near the site and will never, ever forget that night. We continue to pray for all of you and your efforts to change airline travel. God Bless all of you today on the walk, wish I could be there.......

On behalf, I'm sure, of all Jazz lovers.I'm celebrating all the years of great music that Gerry Niewood and Coleman Mellett gave us, especially with Chuck Mangione. An unbelievable loss to Jazz but, first and foremost, to their families and fellow musicians. What a wonderful tribute that your music embraces the (slideshow) memories of all that were lost that fateful night.

My thoughts are with each of you. As the wife of a 'frequent flier', I know that every flight could be his last. I am behind you in your demand that requirements for pilots and the airline industry be changed. If not for a twist of fate I could easily be in your place. Best wishes.

Missing my friend Kristin and remembering the 49 others who perished on this flight. May there be success with this campaign so that other needless tragedies like this one can be avoided in the future.

It is the morning of February 13th...I just listened to the interview on KDKA channel 2 out of Pittsburgh... in regards to Flight 3407. My sympathy is extended to all that have so tragically lost a loved one in that horrible crash. I for 7 years spent time as a flight attendant with Continental Express 50 seater jets. Everytime there is a crash it is ALWAYS considered PILOT ERROR!! PLEASE PLEASE if you haven't already done this check into how many hours in a day a Pilot can fly. I have been up on STAND UP OVERNIGHTS and it's just exactly what it is. You fly, get in less than 8 hours of sleep and right back on the aircraft. We are talking from the time you park the aircraft, all the people off the aircraft, wait for a shuttle to your hotel. How many people get off work and go right to bed, I know I can't. Then you are right back at the airport first thing in the morning. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!! AND IT'S ALWAYS PILOT ERROR. I am positive when mishaps and tragic accidents take place with the airlines...there are ways of covering up. What about the accident in Kentucky, I don't have all my facts I shouldn't even proceed but again...PILOT ERROR. Although AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL only had one person in the tower and the pilot traveled down the wrong runway and lights that were not properly working... I am not saying the pilots do not need more hours, I agree with you!! One thing is for certain check into sleep they do not receive. I am sure if you could have the word from people that were working in the airlines now, without them losing their jobs you would get a better picture. Again I am sorry for your loss...I really would like to see and hear of ONLY good things come from your perseverance!!

My heart goes out to the passengers and families of Continental 3407 on the First Anniversary of a horrific airline disaster. A disaster that could be avoided with experienced Pilots.
I am overcome with sadness today remembering the events.
My deepest sympathy...Denise Lockie Flight 1549 Survivor

I am so sorry for your loss, and want to thank you for standing up to the "understood status quo" when it comes to pilot fatigue & the airlines placing greater value on the dollar than human life; things get the way they are due to slow desensitization - my heart breaks for you all and I pray God will bless your efforts to wake up the ones who can do something about it. Facebook is a very effective site to spread this message, do you have a site there I can link to or become a "fan" of?

You have inspired me to write to my Senators from Vermont. Please except my sincere gratitude for all you are doing to make it safe to fly. Our prayers are with all of you for your loss.

Thank you for your efforts to increase pilot training. I travel alot for my job and am always amazed at the number of customers traveling every day, and I feel it is absolutely necessary to have pilots who can receive proper training. I hope to join you in your efforts to make this happen! God Bless you and all families affected by this tragedy.

Robin, Jennifer, and your other flight 3407 family members and friends, my heart still has not healed for the wonderful perople on that flight. There is hardly a day that goes by that I don't remember Darren, Ernie, Jerry and Steve. I will wear red tomorrow, I will turn my porch lights on and I will walk the memorial walk in memory of my 4 co-workers. I have sent my letters to the senators and the president as you suggested. I cannot imagine your hurt. I thank you for your endeavors for flight safety. I am banning flying because I cannot feel safe any longer - knowing what I know now because of your efforts in your fight for airline safety. Until then, I pray for you and yours from the bottom of my heart. Rest in peace, Darren, Jerry, Ernie & Steve!

To the families,
I have thought of you every day for a year. I am humbled, proud of and grateful for your commitment to us. I wrote the following letter to the Syracuse newspaper and hope that it will be printed, and I hope you know how very sorry so many people are for your loss.
Sincerely,

To the Editor:
Flight 3407 from Newark to Buffalo crashed one year ago, taking the lives of all 49 people on board plus one person on the ground. The victims included Dawn Monachino and Jennifer Neill, and Jennifer’s unborn son. Jen and Dawn were traveling home from a business meeting I hosted in Newark. They were both bright young women on top of their game, and both spent the last two days of their lives among a small group of colleagues who had become very close friends. I sent them off on a shuttle to the airport knowing they were safe, but as we all know, nobody on that plane or on the ground under its path was safe. Despite intense efforts by the victims’ families not enough has been done to make us safer. The crash of Flight 3407 was no accident. It reveals a deep systemic failure, and under the status-quo it is likely to happen again. The families of flight 3407 need your help to change the status-quo. They want to cut the odds that this will happen again, but they need our help to do it. Please visit www.3407memorial.com today to find out more. I will close with a quote from the site: “None of us wish for another family to go through the pain and suffering we have been through and we are doing everything in our power to promote positive change in the aviation industry”. Please take a minute or two to visit the site as we remember that terrible day. And, thank you to the families whose strength and character inspire us as they fight this battle on our behalf.

How anxious we were, the minute the flight was mentioned on the screen, we could not wait to see him. Every second that passed we felt more and more anxious. The moment we over heard what had happened, we did not want to believe. A part of us died that day, and even though we cannot compare your loss to ours, but we can surely say we are feeling what you might be.... we will alway be there for you. May the Lord give the departed soul eternal peace and may he give you all the courage to go on....Amen! Our prayers and love for you will alway be there..
