About Us
This site was created by the family members and close friends of the victims who perished onboard Continental flight 3407 on February 12, 2009. Immediately following the accident many of us gathered in Buffalo looking for answers and trying to come to terms with the grief of losing a loved one in such a sudden and tragic manner.
In the days and weeks following the accident, we came together as a newfound family: looking to each other for support, strength, and a sense of community. As a group, we don't ever wish to see another family have to endure the pain and suffering we have endured and are therefore committed to promoting positive changes related to aviation safety.
Although we do not yet know the true causes of the accident involving flight 3407, we are committed to raising awareness of known safety issues and pressing for the implementation of tighter regulations of commercial flights. Our current efforts include reaching out to members of Congress and other government agencies such as the FAA and NTSB asking for increased cooperation and accountability in addressing known safety issues across the aviation industry. As of today, there are 24 critical safety issues published on the NTSB Most Wanted List dating back to 1997, 18 of which the NTSB rates the FAA's response to as unacceptable. Although many of these safety recommendations may not have affected the fate of flight 3407, it is our hope that these issues will be acknowledged and addressed in the near future in hopes of preventing another major air disaster in the United States.
